#joeoverstreet is a hashtag worth following on IG

In addition to making good work that’s included in a virtual show has some interesting things to say about being a parent and artist during #covid19.

has a nice piece in the #northcarolinaartistsexhibition at #CAMRaleigh. Clearly not all of her work is non-representational- I appreciate the way her work that is leverages an aesthetic borrowed from graphic design to create an intense relationship with viewers.

A friend turned me on to Iris’s IG feed when she was using cubes more as a motif (which I get a lot, big surprise). Have enjoyed watching the trajectory of her iconography- her newer work, also a great direction, is first below.

In addition to being a local fixture as the head of graduate studies at UNCCH, Lien has also been a Joan Mitchell Foundation recipient (and like Brett and Ashlynn and several others I’ve blogged about, is in Front Burner).

If, like me, you regularly drive down #Raleigh Boulevard, you’ve seen Kenneth’s work. You should follow his IG feed, looks like some new things are happening…

After blogging about Victor, my thoughts strayed to Richard, who had a lot of influence over me during a specific period of time (the first one is Richard, the second one is mine from ~2000).

So yeah it’s probably pretty non-shocking to anyone who knows my work that I think about Victor’s work pretty often.

…has new work up at #bridgetdonahue that also made into into the inaugural #platformnewyork

Kind of hard not to be mesmerized by these- picture below with a human for scale. And he makes cool videos so you can make your own!

Hyperallergic caught my eye with Leo’s work. The story of the Park Place Group is another wrinkle in the “primacy” of post-war New York… While some might think of Stella‘s (or Tony‘s) work, I’m more curious about how artists like Zin are taking this idiom forward.

Hyperallergic notes Lee’s particular reaction to the “second generation” question of Modernism. A few of Lee’s compatriots also get a mention.
