Two Coats of Paint reviews Gary’s newest work.

I think it’s interesting to post two artists side by side some time- in this case because they use a similar approach to mark making with different results.
Found Louise’s Instagram profile via a hashtag and she has of course has a site.
Rusty is in both places, too.

Was looking at the Hopper Prize and saw Emma was a finalist last year. Reminds me a little bit of Pablo Palezuelo.

Nothing makes me more jelly of NYC art/life than Two Coats gallery guide. Deborah’s work was the lead in my RSS feed and was surprised I’ve never posted on her before.

David Sweet covers Clyde in issue #117 of AbCrit (which is a good blog you should follow if you love abstraction).

Last point in this Artsy write up is true- I discovered KAWS abstract work first (GQ wrote about him recently as well). It’s kind of funny that the big “A” Art world still toys with an in/out paradigm discussion at all- like either choice (or success in either world) is about anything other than money. Being sold in a specific channel makes something Art? No, the time and weight of history does that.

Caught this interesting interview with Beth in ARTnews- curious to see these as the results of lots of drawing, and to hear how color and form can inform each other.

May have first seen Lucas Tumblring, also follow him on IG (along with a lot of other people).

Found this article and was curious- thanks #artnet!- about whether I knew what they knew… I’m all about Erin O’Keefe and Sarah Crowner (I also follow Maya Hayuk on IG), and was thrilled to discover Marina!
