(last update 12/27)
I thought I’d play with the compositional framework of a long, narrow surface. Started with watercolor pencil drawing, then layers of glaze and additional drawing. The yellow glaze I did early on makes me very happy. Decided to leave a lot of the drawing showing through in the final layers, and mimicked that mark-making (heh- an art school word!) with both paint pen and scratching through translucent glazes with the tip of a knife- I love painting with knives and brushes. Yes, I did use mylar tape and a glazing compound that has glitter. I’ve also decided to submit this one to a juried exhibition!
